If you need to dress up as a Spartan for a fancy dress party or for Halloween, here are some thoughts on how to go about it.

Steps

1. Purchase or make a red cape.
   
2. Purchase or make a helmet for a soldier.
   
3. Carve a spear.
   
4. Do about a 100 crunches a day until you have an "8-pack"
   
5. Go to the party. Keep in character and yell "This is Sparta" and start running around with your flaming red cape billowing out behind you and a menacing look on your face. All in good fun, of course.
   
6. Do not use the "phalanx" formation everytime you see a person they will think your an escapee from the mental hospital
   
7. Do not shout that you are a spartan
   
8. Avoid fights
   

Tips

• You can draw on an 8 pack with skin tone makeup slightly darker than your own skin tone
  

Warnings

• Do not stab anybody with the spear or any other fake weaponry. Put it down before you pretend to be a lively Spartan.
